Description
Dar Aziza
Founded between 1552 and 1556, this palace was a gift from Hussain Dey to his daughter Azeeza, on the occasion of her marriage to the Bey of Constantine. A text of 1721 describes the building as one of the most beautiful monuments before the 1716 earthquake which mostly destroyed it. Dar Azeeza was devastated by a fire in 1844. It represents one the last witnesses of the whole Jenina. It was classified as a historical monument in 1967.
It now houses l’Office de Gestion et d’Exploitation des Biens Culturels protégés (OGEBC).
